Man Receives Compensation for Slip on Warehouse Floor

A man, who damaged his knee when he slipped and fell on a floor at work which should have been treated with anti-slip paint, has been awarded 12,000 pounds in compensation for slip on warehouse floor.

Arkadiusz Chmiel from Mansfield, Nottingham, was working as a cleaner at the town´s Timbet Door Solutions superstore when the accident happened in 2011. Arkadiusz slipped on the floor as he was carrying a 30Kg wooden sawbuck into the store and, in an attempt to avoid being struck by the heavy equipment as he fell, twisted awkwardly and damaged his knee.

Arkadiusz spent several weeks on crutches and underwent intense physiotherapy for his injuries. Even when he was no longer reliant on the crutches, Arkadiusz lost a considerable amount of income as he was still unable to work due to the pain. After taking legal advice, Arkadiusz made a claim for slipped on warehouse floor compensation against his employers.

In their investigation, Arkadiusz´s solicitors discovered that the warehouse floor on which Arkadiusz had slipped had been painted with regular paint rather than anti-slip paint, and therefore Timbet Door Solutions had been negligent in failing to provide Arkadiusz with a safe environment in which to work.

Having seen the evidence against them, insurers for Timbet Door Solutions entered into negotiations with Arkadiusz’s legal advisors and a 12,000 pounds settlement of compensation for slip on warehouse floor was agreed.
